Who is behind ONSE?
A former European DJ who moved to the UK in 2018. Over the past eight years of living and working here, I realized first-hand how difficult it can be to adapt to a new culture; especially when it comes to socializing and finding your crowd. ONS was born from that struggle. It started as a way to bring international vibes to the UK, creating a space that feels a little more like home for those of us living far away from our families and long-term friends.
How did I come up with this name?
I was joking at work with my manufacturing colleagues about how hard it is to actually connect and find your crowd. However, because we are foreigners living in the UK without our families or long-term friends, we still need to socialize, adapt, and stay positive. UK culture is very different from our home countries, and we realized we needed a way to connect without the pressure of forced friendships. You can think of it as a "social compromise" or "meeting in the middle," if you like. I wanted a name that captured that 'just for tonight' freedom. Since I used to DJ in Europe, 'One Night Stand Events' just clicked. It’s about one night of great music, zero pressure, and no strings attached.
Breaking the Cycle
It’s incredibly easy to get trapped in the "work-home-holiday-repeat" cycle, where years just seem to disappear into a blur. We created this space to step entirely out of that loop. It’s about using the power of music and collective energy to create a win-win environment: you get a break from the daily grind, and together, we build a positive, high-energy atmosphere.
